Torreón de Paredes winery is located in the town of Rengo, one of the most specific delimited grape growing areas, or denominations (also known as appellations) controlled by law in Chile. This DOC (denominación de origen controlada) lies in the heart of the Cachapoal Valley, which in turn is part of the Rapel wine district.

Torreón de Paredes has planted in productive vineyards 75% of red grapes on of the total and 25% whites, on the other, and the vines average 20 years old. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Riesling are all planted, and all these varietals are grown, made and bottled on the estate.

In 1997 we began an import plan to bring new certified root stock plantings from France. After undergoing a difficult and arduous process with the Chilean Agricultural Service (SAG), we have planted several grape types new to Chile: Viognier, Syrah and Pinot Noir, as well as different clones of Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. They are now acclimatizing to Chilean soil and climate, and the wines we will make from them will refresh and strengthen our offering of fine wines to those in search of excellence. With these new varieties, Torreón de Paredes moves into the new millennium with renewed vigor and a more complete line of wines.
